Shout out for 'Heart of Hamilton'

From a Hamilton resident

OK, now for the personal advertisement. I visited our new shop on Harford Road "The Heart of Hamilton." I was kind of skeptical, expecting it to be horribly overpriced like so many of the boutiques in Hampden. I was totally thrilled to find really cute, fun things at very reasonable prices...and everything's 15% off in May! I ended up with a kid's birthday present, four little gifts for friends and a foxy pair of sunglasses for myself for about $40. They even gift wrapped for free. Now I have my eye on this adorable toy chest and kid's rocking chair. I think the owner was very hopeful that business would be good as we revitalize Hamilton, but I think business has been very slow. So I encourage you to check it out and support this wonderful local shop, 5523 Harford Road.
Hope everyone is well,
Theresa P.

Outdoor Happy Hour at the Chameleon

Outdoor Happy Hour!
5-7pm Tues-Sat $2/glass of wine

News from Brenda of the Chameleon,

So, we had a grand the other day (The Spring Fling) with the Happy Hour special at The Chameleon. It was great hanging out with lovely friends and neighbors, enjoying the spring weather with some highly affordable wine on Harford Rd. We could just as easily have been in a street cafe in Paris!
It was so much fun I thought we should continue it so that everyone in Nogli-land and farther afield could have the opportunity to sit, relax, and enjoy the outdoors @ The Chameleon.
So, if the weather is nice, think, "let me call __________, and have them meet me for a quick glass of wine. Maybe we'll even split the calamari. Afterwards, I'll pop over to Safeway and pick up __________."

Anyways, I can't wait for the weather to break, and for a little sunshine to be on our shoulders again...

Best Wishes,
Brenda

Zeke's Third Anniversary in Lauraville

On Saturday, April 18th, Zeke's celebrated their 3rd year in Lauraville. Great coffe and great people! Please visit their website and their online store!

Mosaic at the 'Connection' (4500 Harford Rd)

Mosaic at the 'Connection' (4500 Harford Rd)

Toby Rivkin invited the community to be a part of a mosaic project that will find a home on a building in Lauraville. Under Toby's direction, the mosaic is coming together beautifully!

Work is still in progress. Look for Toby and friends at the empty lot across from Safeway at 4500 Harford Road - temporarily known as "The Connection." Then be sure to follow the progress of this project as it is prepared for installation. Great & colorful things continue to happen on Harford Road.

Thanks, Toby, for putting your great idea to work!

Chameleon Spring Menu

Chameleon Spring Menu

News from Brenda of the Chameleon

Greetings!

Our Spring Menu is out! All of the rain is bringing out the varied beautiful hues of green. The green has come into the kitchen as well- asparagus, ramps, fennel, peas, fresh herbs, leeks, spring greens, and artichokes. The menu has a sense of the freshness of spring with many light flavors. Dine on the Fennel, ramp and pea tart, and the Scallops with freshly made gnocci, mushrooms, and peas with Montpellier butter (a compound butter with fresh herbs). If you’re a fan of sweetbreads, the Sautéed veal and sweetbreads with artichoke, lemon, and toasted pecans, Marsala wine and veal glace is really lovely. Melanie has worked on putting together a delightful assortment of wines to compliment the menu. I hope you able to come out and celebrate life and sample our present menu. Our staff is looking forward to taking care of you. “Eat, drink, and be merry”

All the best, Brenda

P.S. Our outside section is open now! Remember you can make a meal of a couple of appetizers or split up some entrees with friends (the way I often like to eat)
