PERFORMANCE AND PLAYWRITING
A Two-Day Workshop with Ruth Willi-Guidon and Mark Scharf

Ages: 12 - 15
Special Introductory Tuition: $125.

Curious about this Theater Workshop? What’s it all about? Your curiosity will take you on an adventurous trip into unexplored territories. During the morning sessions with Ruth Willi-Guidon, you will play theatre games, create improvisations with a partner or in a group, and explore ordinary experiences, like walking, sitting, and dressing, by looking at them in an uncommon way. These activities will prepare you for the sessions in the afternoon where your discoveries will be developed into scenes on stage.

During the second part of your day, Playwright Mark Scharf will help you build on what you’ve created
in the morning to create clear, effective, playable scenes that work on stage. In doing so, Mark will introduce you to the craft of Playwriting by exploring structure, character and dialogue and by using techniques employed in the writing of plays such as settings, images and objects, metaphors, characterizations, objectives and negotiations.
