News from the Red-Canoe

Red Canoe News from Nicole and Peter!

*************************

Hi everyone!

Events events events! It must be spring soon and we are digging out of our winter blahs with a line of great events!

This weekend, Irish soda bread and Irish Lamb Stew!

March 28 at 3pm Illustrator Susan Detwiler will be here to talk about her new book, One Wolf Howls. Susan's illustrations are remarkable for their evocative nature and incredible brush strokes. And from 2 to 4 enjoy the 1rst English preschool ART exhibit! Cookies and juice for all!

April 25th at 4 pm brings local author Leslie Miller to Red Canoe for a great expose on the values of cake--yes, cake! Her new book Let Me Eat Cake: A Celebration of Flour, Sugar, Butter, Eggs, Vanilla, Baking Powder, and a Pinch of Salt delivers a delightful culinary treat--in more ways than one! Join us and meet Leslie for a wine and cheese reception at 4pm Saturday April 25.

On Saturday, May 9th at 4 pm, Red Canoe will be hosting local author and Washington Post writer Steve Luxenberg whose new non-fiction book, Annie's Ghosts, is already receiving awards and recognition in the publishing world. Join us for a wine and cheese reception, a chance to meet the author, and a fine afternoon!

And in the meantime, as always, good food, good books, good coffee, and great neighbors here at Red Canoe--so stop in soon,
