Zeke's Coffee presents
KOPI LUWAK
January 11, 2015

And, more from Zeke's Coffee!

Zeke’s Coffee School

Man, do we know a whole lot about coffee. Until now that information floated around our heads in a scattered unorganized fashion. Starting this winter, it’s all getting put in other folk’s heads.
Learn coffee. Taste coffee. Be coffee.

1/25
100 Brewing Coffee the Zeke’s Way - $25 this course comes with a free brewer

Can't get your coffee taste right at home?  Do you want to experiment with new techniques but don't know where to start?  How important is fresh ground coffee?  These questions and more will be answered in Coffee 100:  Brewing Coffee the Zeke's Way.  This course provides everything the novice coffee aficionado needs to make the perfect cup of coffee every time. Remember, there's the right way, the wrong way, and the Zeke's Coffee way.

Each student will get a free coffee brewer after attending this class.

2/8
101 Introduction to Coffee - $20

What's in your cup? Find out in Coffee 101. From its humble origins in
the Ethiopian highlands to your cup, coffee has come a long way. Learn
where it grows, how it is processed, and what happens when it is
roasted. This course also includes a tasting of four very different
coffee samples.

2/22
102 Tasting: Regions and Varietals - $20

Coffee, like wine, has a flavor that is inextricably linked to the
land where it is grown.  By tasting four different coffees, you will
learn to distinguish the basic flavors associated with each of the
major growing regions. Be prepared to taste coffee and talk about what
it does to your mouth.

3/8
103 Tasting: Blends and Roast Temperatures - $20

Ever wonder what the difference between a French Roast and a Full City
Roast? What sort of strange magic happens in the roast chamber? This
course will cover the science and the flavor of coffee roasting. We
will taste a single coffee at five different temperatures.

3/22
201 Odd Strange and Strange Cultivars - $20

Most of the coffee grown in the world is descended from three plants.
This course traces the story of how those three shrubs grew to be the
vast majority of all coffee cultivated in the world. We will also
discuss the recent interest in heirloom coffee strains. We will sample
four diverse cultivars with unique flavors and histories.

THANKSGIVING DAY YOGA – A TIME FOR REFLECTION

Thursday, November 27 th : 9 – 10:30 am ($15)

For what are you grateful? This is a question often posed in class. It is a powerful practice to invoke gratitude…not only for the grandiose joys of our life, but the subtle ones, like the bitterness of that morning cup of coffee or the feel of your favorite blanket.

In this very special class, we will indulge in the language of gratitude, expressing it through silent meditation, vocal toning exercises, and yoga asana. Our wish for you is to see the months ahead not with a sense of dread and responsibility, but with a sense of deeply immersed gratitude and joy.

YOGATHON
SUNDAY, DECEMBER 7 TH 1 -6 pm

To benefit the food pantry and the homeless

The yoga schedule for the event is posted on the website.http://www.earthpulseyoga.com/events/yogathon-supporting-need/
We are also seeking crafters, service and food vendors to share in this event. Cost for a table is $15, and all proceeds will be donated

TAKE A RECESS FROM HOLIDAY RESPONSIBILITIES
RELEASE AND RENEW

Saturday, December 13 th : Noon – 2 pm
$15 for pre-registration; $25 at the door

Take a break during the holiday season to nurture mind and body, release and rejuvenate.
This mid-holiday workshop is an opportunity to rest in your center. It incorporates elements of pranayama (yogic breathing), yoga asana (with a focus upon twisting), yin yoga, as well as guided meditation. The workshop will end with a healing, vocal toning exercise.
Why twisting?
Twisting asanas, in particular, are an effective way to release toxins from the body (by massaging the entire abdominal cavity), reduce stress, and physically and mentally energize.
Why Yin Yoga?
Yin yoga is a powerful yogic practice. The premise of yin (which is very restorative to the soft tissues and excellent to both prevent arthritis and improve arthritic symptoms) is to relax into a grounded, well-supported pose. Through this 'relaxing into the pose' we have an opportunity to intensely 'feel' our physical body; and when the dull ache of discomfort arises, yin teaches us not to resist—which is what we have been conditioned to do, but to let go and go deeper into ourselves. Obviously yin is not only a physical practice, but it is a spiritual practice. It teaches us to look at our shadows and our darkness and instead of avoidance, meeting those lessons with gratitude.

4-WEEK BEGINNER
CREATE YOUR YOGA CLASS SERIES

Tuesday, December 9 th – December 30 th
7:00 - 8:30 pm
$40 for preregistration; $15 walk-ins

In between our 8-week beginner yoga series, which is held on Tuesday evenings and recommencing in January, we are offering a special, “mini” beginner yoga series, with an extra kick. During this 4-week session, you have the opportunity—if you so desire—to voice your opinion and createyour yoga class.
What? Are we crazy? No…we want to invite you to nurture the practice of 'asking for what you need' and honoring yourself.
How will this feat be accomplished? Upon registration, contact us and let us know what you want to be addressed in those four weeks. Perhaps downward facing dog, tree pose, or warrior II is frustrating for you.Perhaps you want to learn more about twists, back bends, strength poses, etc. Perhaps you want to learn more about pranayama (in general) or a specific yogic breathing technique. Perhaps you want to learn about how to meditate or invoke vocal toning to bring healing to your physical, mental, emotional and spiritual bodies.
It's up to you. The field is wide open and we are listening.
To register: http://www.earthpulseyoga.com/events/mini-beginner-create-yoga-series-2014-12-09/
